Educational planning for high-school students

Explore how college choices shape the life that follows.

DebtDefy helps you see how education decisions connect to your financial life. Every figure is an estimate built from assumptions you can change.

College Plan

What could college cost, and how could I pay for it?

Financial Life Plan

What could my money look like after school?

The College Plan looks at the years in school. The Financial Life Plan looks at what comes after.

Two connected plans

Each plan answers a different question. Together they show how a college decision can reach into the years after it.

College Plan

What could college cost, and how could I pay for it?

  • Compare schools and programs side by side
  • See estimated costs after aid
  • Understand what borrowing could mean later

Financial Life Plan

What could my money look like after school?

  • Follow a month-by-month roadmap
  • Weigh debt payments, savings, and goals
  • Look ahead to retirement

Neither plan predicts your future. Change an assumption whenever you like and see what changes.

How it works

  1. Explore realistic choices

Start with the schools, programs, and aid you are considering.

  2. See tradeoffs and consequences

Compare estimated costs and look at what borrowing could mean later.

  3. Save and compare where access allows

Saving and comparing plans depend on your account's access, including school-sponsored access.

  4. Revise as life changes

Update your assumptions when your situation or goals change.

Lessons come with the plans

DebtDefy teaches the money ideas behind each screen, so the planner is not the only thing students learn from.

Follow-along slides for students

Short slides explain each idea first and the screen second. Download them and keep them open beside your plan.

  • Organized by class day
  • Each plan question names the slide number to open
  • Downloads as a PowerPoint file

Teaching slides for teachers

A ready-to-teach deck for each plan. Teachers find it after signing in. Each class day is planned for 50 minutes.

  • Time for teaching, discussion, research, and work in the app
  • Discussion questions that ask students to think, not recall
  • Never asks students to share their own finances

Who DebtDefy serves

Students come first. The same product supports the adults who work with them.

Students

Join your class with the link or code your teacher gives you, or try the College Plan as a guest. You do not need an email address or your real name. Saving and comparing plans depend on your access.

Educators and counselors

See progress summaries for the students assigned to you, and download teaching slides for each class day. Staff use Student View to demonstrate DebtDefy. It lets them try the student experience without acting as a student.

Schools and districts

School and district access starts with an invitation from a school or district administrator.

Privacy-conscious planning

You should be able to explore without handing over your household's details.

You choose what to enter

Where the planner allows it, you can use estimated or made-up numbers. You never need to share real household finances to explore.

Personal and school access stay separate

Your personal account and school access are separate. Having one does not turn on the other.

Saved work depends on access

Guest work is not saved. Saving and comparing need access that includes them, such as school-sponsored access.

Privacy and security are priorities

Access to school information is checked on the server, not by the page you are looking at.

About the estimates

DebtDefy is an educational planning tool for high-school students. Every figure it shows is an estimate based on the assumptions and information you enter. It is not individualized financial, legal, tax, or investment advice, and it does not guarantee any outcome.

Before you make a real financial decision, check actual costs, aid offers, loan terms, and account rules with your school, your lender, or a qualified professional.

Start with what you want to explore

If your teacher gave you a class link or code, join your class to get your own login. Or try the College Plan as a guest first.
